TONY NEWBERNE
Born and bred in North Carolina, Tony is a Certified Personal Trainer, Dietary Manager and Myeloma patient. His energy and positive mindset that flows through him is unmatched.
With a passion to impact others Tony developed his own unique fitness training system, owns and operates his own Studio, “Changing Lives FITness”, for individual and corporate clients in the Charlotte Metro area and clients via Zoom. His expertise changes the lives of men and women, young and old, to achieve their optimal levels of fitness and wellness- while improving their outlook on life and sense of wellbeing. And he practice what he preach, adhering to a strict nutritional and fitness regimen.
As a proud owner of a personal training/fitness studio, his love and passion for hiking, nature, animals, traveling, vegetable gardening, family, friendships, health, wellness and fitness permeates all aspects of his life.
Tony is a ten year plus survivor of high risk Myeloma and has been on continuous treatment regimens. Imagine at 39yrs old being given a 50% chance of living 1-year. 98% of cancer throughout my body, 6.8 hemoglobin, blood transfusions, anemia, renal failure, multiple lumbar fractures, two back procedures, severe pain, 30/40% chance of making it out of the hospital, and a transplant— Multiple Myeloma does not define him and will not control him. But it didn’t always feel that way.
As he experienced enormous health challenges, his motivation to impact lives only grows. With his participation and commitment to professional and inspiring patient advocacy organizations/foundations, speaking at various patient programs, coaching individual patients and providing awareness of services to healthcare professionals, he now contributes in ways that he could have never imagined. And most satisfying is the privilege to coach those facing cancer who need a mentor and role model to not only survive but to thrive.
Even with a very busy business schedule, his energy and determination to impact others who face this journey are unprecedented. With his unique connections and frequent trips to DC, he is a confidant to his US Senate and US House of Representative staffers, to impact policy on healthcare disparities, and the special needs for cancer patients and rare diseases.
In his limited spare time, Tony enjoys spending quality time with his partner of over 12 years, beautiful Doberman boy, and traveling the world.
Don’t cater to negativity. Remember to smile and always protect your peace! And be good to yourself.
